The Mother bleeds and from her adulterated flesh, her murderers carve riches to feed their unquenchable thirst. They slash and they burn. They take and they take and they take. The Wolf longs for the nightmare to be over.It will never be over. Tell me, Wolf. Do you howl with anger? Or despair? Are you gonna sit back and let them take away the only thing that has ever mattered? Where is your Rage, Wolf?She chose you! You were supposed to protect her and you are letting her die. Wake up! Their feast of worms is over. Show them your hate. Ruin their flesh as they ruined hers. Make them bleed as she bled. Make them pay for what they've done to her. Show them your Rage.
Underneath your human skin, your Rage is a simmering ember waiting to become a roaring inferno. You've always been seen as an outsider. They could sense you were a wolf in sheep's clothing. And you knew it too. Then, you Changed. In moonlight, your bones broke and your muscles tore. They reshaped and retooled for the kill. When you woke up, you were naked and wet with blood and sweat. You shed your human life in the world of concrete and fled to the edges of civilization. The moon and your Rage guided you to the wood, where you met others like you. Wolves. You are the Garou.
Werewolf: the Apocalypse is a personal horror game where you battle against hopelessness. You play as Garou, werewolves created by Gaia, the primordial mother of creation to fight against the Wyrm, the corrupted and awful embodiment of entropy and decay. The Wyrm's agents pollute and deforest endless swathes of Gaia's flesh. You were reborn to a dying world and a scattered people. The Garou are slowly being wiped out. The spirits of the natural world they once tended have turned away from them, and their enemies batter them at every turn. The elder Garou's bitterness led to the Garou's society splitting apart into civil war.
You are a pup to other Garou, they see you as young and restless and gave you the shit work of patrolling the edges of your territory. While on patrol, your Sept's home was attacked by humans lead by another Garou. The traitor wolf is one of the Black Spiral Dancers, Garou corrupted by the Wyrm, and has captured your Pack's Leader, your mentor that taught you how to survive as a Garou. You and the last surviving members of your Sept have to hunt down the Black Spiral Dancer and rescue your Pack Leader. Long ago she promised that she'd walk into hell to save you. Time to return the favor.
